Get Ready to Not be Law Abiding.

Here at Gunnewsdaily.com, we hear a lot of things. Rumors. Gossip. Fan mail mixed with hate mail.

We try to stick with the facts so that people don't over-react.

But in this commentary, I'd like to share with you the hearsay stories I am hearing from email and personal sources.

One is a story from a police officer from a city here in Southern California. The officer is selling his 1989-registered Roberti-Roos class "assault" weapon to a gun dealer (to be sold out-of-state) so that he can remove it from his state-government records.

Why? Because another police officer buddy of his was recently fired from the police force when it was discovered that the officer owned a non-registered, pre-1989, Roberti-Roos "assault" rifle.

My friend sees which way the political winds are blowing and he doesn't want to risk his career with even the "hint of impropriety or political incorrectness"; that is, owning a lawfully registered weapon. Even law enforcement will be frowned-upon by government bureaucrats for owning personal firearms.

Pretty interesting about his friend, though. A good police officer with years of experience on the force. Now he is out of a job, and if prosecuted, a felon. Why? Because he owned a gun that was legal before 1989, and now isn't.

Yes, he could have registered it between 1989 and 1992. But he didn't. And he could have registered it after March of 1992; but then he would be in the same spot as others who registered their weapons after March of 1992. That "spot" being a wanted criminal simply for owning a firearm.

I asked my PD friend about the pressure from the department. He said that ignorance about what is-- or is not-- a legal or illegal weapon is rampant. Most of the new officers are liberalized and therefore don't know anything about the 2^nd Amendment. The Justice Department of California is little help. All they want is to "get guns off the street"; enforcing the law or helping the citizen remain in compliance means little to their political objectives. To them, all guns are illegal, when in the hands of civilians-- criminals or not.

I can see which way the winds are blowing too. First registration, then demonization, then confiscation.

Another story comes from Northern California. Not San Francisco. I am talking about where there are still some real Americans.

A gun-store owner friend reports that from his vantage, the rural citizens who enjoy their 2^nd Amendment liberties are going to resist being classified as criminals and treated as slaves. Some of them have expressed a verbal invitation to the various law enforcement agencies to pay them a visit to see if they are capable of retrieving their registered and non-registered weapons. Their advice: bring plenty of ammo.

One resident speculated that Sacramento was in for a surprise when they discover that they have instigated a dozen or more "Ruby Ridge" encounters all over the state.

"Classified as criminals and treated like slaves", were their words.

Yes. Hard times are indeed on their way. I can see that the standard NRA parlance used by the national branch will have to be amended for Californians. When AB23 passes into law, we will no longer be "law-abiding" citizen gun owners. Law-abiding and gun-owner will be incongruent terms in the State of California.

We who resist being turned into slaves will instead be classified as criminals and enemies of the State.

Liberals ask: "Who is trying to make slaves out of you?"

The answer is: you are. Despite the best intentions of liberals to create a more peaceful society by the totalitarian removal of guns from the hands of citizens; the end result is the smoothly paved gateway to enslavement, where the free can no longer resist because they have no means.
