An Entitlement to Loot

Hurricane Katrina as of this writing has left 80% of New Orleans under water. The infrastructure we have all come to comfortably know as "civil society" has collapsed in that part of the world.

For we who understand the true nature and intent of the 2nd Amendment and its functional role in a civilized society, it comes as no surprise that the looting has started.

The Associated Press reports how Walgreen's drug stores are being sacked by mobs that use their children as "lookouts" for approaching police.

To the astonishment of people whose minds have never given a thought to the constructs of evil for fear of an inner-condemnation of being labeled judgmental, scenes of people using plastic floating trash cans as floatation devices to haul away the property of their fellow citizens (co-equal suffers in the face of such as disaster) is paralytically shocking.

The AP reports that one looter was mistaken by the reporter as a store owner. The reporter asked the looter if he was salvaging items from his store. The looter replied, "No. That's EVERYBODY'S store."

Our entitlement society bears its fruit for all to see.

Even the spectators of the looting confide to the reporters: "To be honest with you, people who are oppressed all their lives, man, it's an opportunity to get back at society."

Carrying this morality to its logical conclusion the New Orleans "oppressed" would consider nuking DC because their food stamps didn’t show up on time.

Fortunately for home owners, business owners, the weak, and perhaps the truly oppressed, Louisiana is a Concealed Carry state. So when the National Guard turns it back on its duty to protect the public from the oppression of the "morally outraged" mob (remember Rodney King and LA?), at least armed citizens will have a fighting chance.

If you are in New Orleans right now and are seeking shelter, I have a small piece of advice: find the nearest Korean Town. You will be safe there.
