Handgun Registration Benefits Go Unanswered
For years we have asked California's DOJ of the benefits of California's handgun registration program. How many crimes have been prevented thanks to California's handgun registration system, which now contains millions of handguns? The silence out of California officials has been nothing short of deafening. California has not published any data, statistics or made statements on how the registration system has saved lives or prevented crimes. Our answer for their non-responsiveness has been because they can't produce data that justifies the by now the hundreds-of-millions spent on registration since its implementation.
Steve Helsley, former Assistant Director of the California DOJ, who later held positions for the NRA in California and Nevada asks the same questions of both the Clark County, Nevada Sheriff and California officials. The answers don't surprise us in the least.
