Roger Hedgecock, Host of KOGO AM-600 in San Diego has been pursuing the recent Pomona Gun Show scam perpetrated by California Attorney General Bill Lockyer.  The following is his latest update.

 SPEAKING OF THE UNBRIGHT..Attorney Generals 
 office finally coughs up the press release promised last Friday..recall 
 ROGER tracking down allegations (sent to us via a faithful listener & 
 e-mailer) that an AG sting at the Pomona gun show concluded with a TV press 
 conference..a full display of confiscated weapons and much touting of gun 
 show crack down..on the table in front of the AG on TV, guns that not only 
 had not been siezed but in fact were legal and in some cases weapons that 
 belonged to police officers..the boss got AGs folks to admit they had staged 
 the weapons display..but they bragged about bagging four illegal gun sale 
 suspects..opps..we called one of the suspects yesterday..turns out the sting 
 cops (borrowed from a narcotics unit) don't know diddly about guns..had no 
 idea what items at the gun show were legal or illegal..and so AG will play 
 hell making a good case against any of the folks busted...most of whom are 
 licensed Federal and State firearms dealers and know their stuff!! (hey, the AG, Bill 
 Lockyer is making a transition..usta be a state senator...it'll take him a 
 couple of years to learn the ropes..or maybe he already knows the ropes too 
 well..kinda Clintonesque??)
